Visa requirements
Confirm whether the passport nationality requires a pre-entry visa. Final permission to enter is granted by Immigration on arrival.

Supporting documents
Carry proof of return or onward travel, a local address, accommodation details and sufficient funds for the period of stay.
Pre-entry visa requirements.
Most short-stay visitors do not require a visa before arrival. Nationals of the countries listed here must obtain a pre-entry visa from the Ministry of National Security.
Current Government source lists are not consistent regarding Bangladesh and Nepal. Nationals of either country, and travellers using non-standard travel documents, must confirm the requirement directly with the Ministry of National Security before travel.

Arrival procedure.
Four steps from the aircraft door to the arrivals hall. Each traveller is cleared individually, in this order.

Document check
The airline verifies travel documents before boarding. Complete the Embarkation/Disembarkation form when directed by the airline or port authority.

Immigration inspection
Present the passport and all supporting documents. Provide the purpose and intended duration of the visit when requested.

Period of admission
Verify the authorised period before leaving the inspection desk. The date recorded by the Immigration Officer determines the permitted stay.

Baggage and Customs
Collect all baggage and complete the required Customs declaration before entering the public arrivals hall.
Authorised period of stay.
The Immigration Department publishes the following admission periods. The period recorded in the entry stamp or permit is the legally authorised period of stay.
OECS nationals
Indefinite staySubject to applicable OECS free-movement and identification requirements.
Barbados & Belize nationals
Indefinite staySubject to CARICOM passport and registration requirements under the October 2025 regime.
Other CARICOM, UK, US & Schengen
Up to 6 monthsThe period recorded by the Immigration Officer is the authorised period of stay.
Other international visitors
Up to 3 monthsSubject to passport nationality, entry requirements and the Immigration Officer’s decision.
Extensions of stay
An extension must be requested before the current permission expires. The published fee is EC$75 cash for each month or part of a month. Applications may be submitted at the Immigration Head Office in Kingstown or at the ports of Bequia, Mustique, Canouan and Union Island.
Employment, study and residence
Visitor status does not authorise employment. Employment and residence require prior approval. Study and other long-stay arrangements must be confirmed with Immigration and the relevant institution before travel.
Health and special arrivals.
A few requirements that apply only to some travellers — by where they have been, who they travel with, and how they arrive.
Yellow fever
Travellers over one year of age must present proof of vaccination when arriving from a yellow-fever-risk country or after a transit exceeding 12 hours in such a country. The current SVG notice exempts travel from or transit through Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago.
Children & families
Every child must travel with an accepted travel document. Where a child travels with one parent or another adult, confirm whether the airline or any transit country requires a consent letter, birth certificate or evidence of custody.
Yachts & private aircraft
All occupants must clear Immigration at an authorised port. Operators should arrange all port, Immigration, Customs and aviation formalities before arrival and departure.
